This medal is a reproduction mini George Cross. The George Cross is the highest gallantry award for civilians and for members of the armed forces in actions where purely military honours would not normally be granted. Perhaps the most famous cross was that conferred on the Island of Malta in recognition of its gallantry during the Second World War. The medal is 17mm wide and is made from lead-free pewter and silver plated.
The card has a colour painting of a Spitfire engaging JU 87's over Valetta, Malta 1942 on the front and historical information on the back.
