Brooklands Racing Cars Metal Wall Sign (3 sizes)
Brooklands was a 2.75 mile racing circuit and aerodrome near Weybridge in Surrey. It opened in 1907 and was the worlds first purpose built 'banked' motor racing circuit. The circuit held its last race in August 1939 and part of it now forms the Brooklands Museum. This piece, originally created by artist Kevin Walsh, has been reproduced on a metal sign. It truly captures the excitement and speed involved in the races and the dangers of pulling out from the pits! This would make a great gift for motor sports enthusiasts and would look great in a Study, Man-Cave, Garage or den.
Born in Yorkshire in 1950, he studied illustration at Wakefield College of Art. Kevin developed an early reputation for accurate technical paintings, historical detail combined with an ability to capture the warmth and atmosphere of his subjects, these are the hallmarks of this remarkably accomplished artist. He travels many miles to research his paintings and spends countless hours sketching before committing the final composition to canvas.
Your Brooklands Racetrack Wall Sign will come with pre drilled holes in each corner for easy fixing. We recommend that your Metal Wall Art is suitable for Indoor hanging (preferably out of direct sunlight) or in a shaded area outside. These signs are NOT UV treated, but you can apply a suitable UV resistant spray post purchase to prolong it's vibrant colours for a longer period of time ( available from most DIY stores and online ), check out our special Blog for more information. Signs placed in direct sunlight will naturally fade over time. However, placing your sign in the right place will ensure years of happy viewing.
