Cars we Loved in the 1970s
The 1970s saw some ground-breaking changes in British showrooms: Renault 5 established the new mini classic, VW Golf provided the average family car a hatchback and sporty cars became available to everyone in the form of the Ford Capri, however, the Ford Cortina remained top of the sales charts. It was a tricky time to be a driver, fuel prices were on a rollercoaster ride and the roads were something to be desired! Whilst British manufacturers were hampered by striking workforces Japan's Datsuns and Toyotas cruised off with contented customers. This turbulent decade is documented here by Giles Chapman with stunning illustrations. A great gift idea for classic car fans. A novelty 50th Birthday gift idea for him!
