Land Girls Victory Harvest Metal Wall Sign (4 Sizes)
As farmers and land workers became conscripted into the forces during World War Two, it left a shortage of people in rural areas to manage the land and help produce the nations food supply. The Women's Land Army originally set up in 1917, disbanded after the first world war. In 1939 it revived and by 1944 there were 80,000 Land Girls working across the country. Land Girls, providing a range of services to keep the rural economy and often food supply in good health, played a massive contribution to the whole war effort. Our Land Girls wall art depicts them harvesting a field with a Spitfire flying above. This patriotic WWII recruitment poster is a must for all WWII collectors. Likewise, our Land Girl advertisement sign will hang perfectly in any home as a nostalgic piece of art.
