Royal Windsor Coin Pack
A delightful coin collection representing 8 original coins from the Royal House of Windsor. The coins are mounted on a presentation card and held in clear blisters. The front of the card illustrates the Union Jack and the Windsor Coat of Arms. The reverse tells the story of The House Of Windsor.
Originally the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, in 1917, George V, in recognition of the anti-German feelings of the British people during WWI, changed his family name to Windsor. Edward VIII accended the throne in January 1936, but abdicated in December 1936 to marry Mrs. Wallis Simpson, a twice divorced American.
George VI succeeded his brother and remained a popular figure head particularly through WWII. His death in February 1952 lead to Queen Elizabeth II's reign, the longest serving monarch in British History. This collection of coins reflect a small insight into the Royal House OF Windsor Story.
