Thomas Crapper & Co Metal Wall Sign (3 Sizes)
Despite the urban legend, Crapper did not invent the toilet (the myth assisted by his surname). The flushing toilet was invented by Edward Jennings who, in 1852, first took out a patent for the flush-out toilet. However, Crapper did much to increase its popularity and came up with some related inventions, such as the ballcock. He was noted for the quality of his Edit Products and received several Royal Warrants.
This Victorian advertising flyer (on a metal sign) produced by Thomas Crapper and Co. shows with intricate detail the development of the flushing toilet. This would make an excellent, quirky decorator's piece in any vintage styled bathroom or downstairs toilet.
Your Thomas Crapper Wall Sign will come with pre drilled holes in each corner for easy fixing. We recommend that your Metal Wall Art is suitable for Indoor hanging (preferably out of direct sunlight) or in a shaded area outside. These signs are NOT UV treated, but you can apply a suitable UV resistant spray post purchase to prolong it's vibrant colours for a longer period of time ( available from most DIY stores and online ), check out our special Blog for more information. Signs placed in direct sunlight will naturally fade over time. However, placing your sign in the right place will ensure years of happy viewing.
